Roxanne grew up in a small beach town on the coast of California. From a young age, she was drawn to beauty and loved getting her hands in hair. After high school, Roxanne attended Cosmetology school in Santa Barbara. After finishing cosmetology, Roxanne began a yearlong internship, where she had the opportunity to shadow and learn from accomplished industry stylists and educators.

Early on, Roxanne fell in love with balayage; the way you can paint right onto the hair and lighten where you sweep the lightener on. After 13 years, this is still her favorite approach to coloring hair. Roxanne sees cutting hair in a similar way- bringing out the hair’s natural texture, responding to how the hair moves and falls, and creating an effortless effect. With a strong foundation in classic haircutting and early influence with razor cutting, Roxanne brings the two together in a seamless way.

While pregnant with her first child, Roxanne became sensitive to the products being used in the salon. After some research, it was clear that how she interacted with products and chemicals had to change. Thus began the search for cleaner and safer options. Finding a company that had cleaner ingredients while maintaining quality professional performance was no easy feat. After much trial and error over the years, the products used at Mero are hands down her favorite.

Outside of the salon Roxanne enjoys spending time with her family and friends and playing outside- forever daydreaming of hanging at the beach with a sketchbook and pencil nearby. She loves to create with many different mediums, explore different art forms, and is currently immersed in sewing and painting.
